The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced this week that it will —
over the next three years — make critical habitat determinations for
five populations of bull trout that are listed as threatened under the
federal Endangered Species Act.
The announcement comes on the heels of a settlement with two
conservation groups that had sued to compel the agency to pursue
critical habitat designations.
