The state of Montana has unveiled a long-awaited bull trout recovery
plan, and so far some reviews are highly critical of it.
The plan’s oft-repeated mantra is to "conserve the best remaining
bull trout populations and then restore diminished populations" throughout
western Montana by 2030. The state is taking comments on a draft version
of the plan through Jan. 22.
